A leading Oxfordshire hotel has beaten over half a million competitors to become one of Expedia’s Insiders Select Hotels for 2015.
The Maytime Inn, in Burford, landed the title after Expedia confirmed it had maintained a minimum guest review score of 4.7 out of 5.
The annual list represents a ranking of the world’s best reviewed hotels as determined by direct customer feedback on, with winning hotels identified by Expedia travellers as properties in top global destinations.

The 2015 class of Insiders’ Select hotels is based off of more than two million customer Verified Reviews, meaning Expedia confirmed the traveller’s booking on in order to review the property.

Dominic Wood, Owner at The Maytime Inn, is thrilled to receive the Expedia honour, and thinks the award provides great exposure for independent hotels.

He said: “This is a fantastic award for us to win as a small independent hotel.

“It is amazing to receive such a prestigious accolade amongst such a varied and wide range of competition.

“Thanks to websites like Expedia, we are able to compete with much larger hotels and still gain recognition for our efforts.

“It’s also a great reflection of the hard work we’ve put into the hotel - and our dedication to providing a first class service to all of our customers.”
John Morrey, Vice President and General Manager at Expedia also commented on the Maytime’s win – and congratulated the hotel for ‘exceeding’ customer expectations.

He said: “We’re delighted to recognise the select group of hotels that have exceeded customer expectations in key aspects of the hotel experience.

“By empowering our travellers with real reviews penned by real hotel customers, we are providing the knowledge to make informed booking decisions.”
