The Awards, which represent a business’ commitment to recycling, calculate how many kilograms of recycled rubbish, how many trees saved and how many tonnes of CO2 offset over a year. LSO St Luke’s recycled 4,500KGs, saved 51 trees and offset 1.3 tonnes of CO2 in 2014.
LSO St Luke’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Victoria Steinitz, comments: “As a repurposed building, sustainability has been a focus at LSO St Luke’s since its renovation and subsequent opening in March 2003.
“We have ground-source heating and cooling - very new technology when it was installed over 12 years ago - and numerous building systems that run in as environmentally friendly a way as possible, including LED light fittings, sensor taps and recycling facilities throughout the building. This latest award reflects the LSO’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and the achievements of both our team and visitors in ensuring our waste is responsibly managed.”
