Gold Service Scholarship win for Lusso's Daniele Quattromini

Daniele Quattromini, Lusso’s manager at Club Lounge 39

Win marks a first for Business & Industry sector

Daniele Quattromini, Lusso’s manager at Club Lounge 39 in Canary Wharf, was named the winner of this year’s Gold Service Scholarship Award during a gala presentation at London’s Claridge’s hotel. In a competition traditionally dominated by entrants from prestigious hotels and restaurants, Daniele is the first competitor from the world of contract catering to win the award.

Launched in 2012, the Scholarship offers the opportunity for a young front of house professional to refine their skills and knowledge through a year’s worth of mentoring, learning, travel and placement opportunities in the UK and internationally. As examples of the prizes on offer, Quattromini, 25, can choose to work with the Royal Household at a state banquet; spend a week in Europe with Mandarin Oriental Hotels Group; receive mentoring at the Waterside Inn and at Le Gavroche; and visit vineyards in Champagne and Bordeaux.

Quattromini, who competed against seven other finalists during a lunch service at the Connaught hotel, London, joined Lusso - a corporate fine dining and hospitality specialist - in October 2013 and moved to its contract at Club Lounge 39 six months later. Based on the 39th floor of One Canada Square at Canary Wharf, Club Lounge 39 is part of Level39 - Europe's largest technology accelerator for businesses in the finance, retail and future cities industries. It provides co-working space for technology start-ups, plus office space, event spaces, and a private members club.

Daniele graduated in hospitality management from Bournemouth University in 2013, having undertaken work experience stints at Chewton Glen and Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.

Lusso’s managing director Paul Hurren said: “Daniele embodies Lusso’s values perfectly. We are, of course, delighted for him. It is also a wider endorsement of Lusso’s excellent service ethos and a symbol of the faultless standards that exist with contract catering. We are not only matching the best that fine dining and prestigious hotels can offer we are beating it.”
