Customer service and innovation award for CheapOair.co.uk

Online travel agent CheapOair is celebrating its global call centres winning the ‘Customer Focused Innovations of the Year’ category at the International Service Excellence Awards. The annual awards are developed by the International Council of Customer Service Organisations, and the Customer Service Institute of America.

The ‘Customer Focused Innovations of the Year’ category is one of the most hotly contested at the annual awards, with over 50 applicants. CheapOair was recognised alongside global brands such as DHL and Microsoft.

The comprehensive judging process included a site visit to one of CheapOair’s contact centres in New York. CheapOair and its parent company, Fareportal, has seven contact centres around the world, including in North America, Canada, India and in the UK. Recognising the expertise of contact centre professionals, the award judges also praised CheapOair’s technology as ‘user-friendly and relevant to customer needs, providing customers with exactly what they are looking for while saving time and money.’

Peter Grover, managing director, CheapOair UK explains:   “As an online-based business, we are always pleased when our technology is recognised as industry leading. The International Service Excellence Awards also highlight the investment that goes into our personal approach to customer service via our telephone contact centres. We’re a hybrid business that combines the best of technology with the best of high-touch service, and we are incredibly proud to be recognised for our efforts to be more than an online travel agent.”

In addition to winning the ‘Customer Focused Innovations of the Year’ award, CheapOair was also one of 12 finalists in the ‘Contact Centre of the Year’ category.

CheapOair is also celebrating reaching finalist status at the internationally recognised business awards, the Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service. The business is shortlisted in 14 categories including Customer Centre of the Year, e-Commerce Customer Service, Innovation in Customer Service and Best Use of Technology in Customer Service. The winners will be announced in Las Vegas at the end of February 2015.
