Chelsea Football Club wins Best Football Club Hospitality at Football Business Awards 2014

Chelsea Football Club was last week crowned winner of the Best Football Club Hospitality award at the Football Business Awards 2014, beating off competition from many of the UK’s most prolific footballing institutions.

The coveted award was presented to Chelsea Football Club in recognition of ongoing investment into its hospitality product, commitment to customer service and first-class delivery of accessible hospitality packages designed to reflect the individual needs of Chelsea FC’s diverse customer base. This has included the new UTB Sports Lounge package, which sees the club’s Under the Bridge music venue transformed into a stylish sports lounge on matchdays, developed in response to guests’ need for a more relaxed and informal hospitality experience. In addition, this year has seen the launch and development of the club’s first hospitality mobile app, offered exclusively to hospitality guests to enhance their matchday experience.

The award was honoured to Chelsea Football Club by an esteemed judging panel of senior and influential figures from both the football and the wider business community, who commented: ‘‘Chelsea have broadened the appeal of their hospitality and had some outstanding results. Some very strong initiatives include their mobile app. They really do care about their customers and have achieved impressively high renewal rates.’’

Simon Hunter, Head of Venue and Brand at Chelsea Football Club, added: “This award is a ringing endorsement of the ongoing commitment, development and investment into our hospitality product at Chelsea Football Club, in addition to the tireless effort put in by the entire CFC hospitality team to deliver exceptional experiences to each and every person visiting Stamford Bridge. We are delighted to have been honoured such a prestigious accolade in front of an esteemed crowd of our industry peers.”

The Football Business Awards, held in Stamford Bridge’s 1400m2 blank-canvas Great Hall events space, recognise the unsung heroes behind the scenes of stadia nationwide, celebrating their successes and rewarding innovations off rather than on the pitch.
