South African Airways wins ‘Best African Airline’ award at the Business Traveller Awards 2014

South African Airways has once again scooped the ‘Best African Airline’ Award at the Business Traveller Awards 2014. This is the eighth consecutive year that South African Airways has won the accolade further cementing their growing reputation, having been previously awarded with a 4-Star Airline Skytrax ranking for the 12th year in a row. SAA remains the only carrier on the African content to have achieved this high level 4-star airline rating.

The Business Traveller Awards, which were hosted by English actor Robert Powell at the London Hilton in Park Lane yesterday, are voted for by readers of the magazine as part of an annual Readers Poll and are designed to reward products and services that the reader’s themselves value. Widely regarded as the market’s benchmark for excellence, South Africa’s national carrier beat stiff competition from Kenyan Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and Egypt Air.

South African Airways is currently undergoing final preparations ahead of its upcoming move to the new Terminal 2 on 22nd October 2014.

South African Airways offers direct double daily flights between London Heathrow and Johannesburg and serves over 30 destinations within Africa on a fleet of Airbus A330 and A340s.

Gary Kershaw, UK & Ireland Country Manager for South African Airways commented, “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award for the third year in a row and ahead of our move to Heathrow Terminal Two.  South African Airways is thrilled to be continually recognised and voted for by the travellers themselves and the result is testament to our staff, the service they provide to our customers, and our operational track record.”

Business Traveller was launched in the UK in 1976 and now has ten editions worldwide including the US, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, China and Germany. The magazine aims to provide frequent business travellers with travel news and inspiration for both their business and leisure trips.
