Sankara's The Gallery receives ’Wine Spectator Award of Excellence’ for the third year

Sankara Nairobi’s bar The Gallery has been award for the third year the illustrious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2014.
The annual Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Awards recognise restaurants and bars across the world whose wine list offer appealing selections, are appropriate for their concept and entice a wide range of wine lovers. The Wine Spectator is the most authoritative guide to wine and wine culture globally. The Gallery was the first establishment in Eastern Africa to have been awarded the title. The Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Awards are highly competitive with over 5000 submissions every year.

The Gallery has been awarded the Award of Excellence in 2011, 2012 and now 2014.

With a growing appreciation for wine and wine culture within the city, it is only appropriate that there be a destination that offers a comprehensive selection of wines from around the world. With its extensive menu The Gallery presents a distinctive wine experience for guests to experiment, indulge in and discover with the help of the in-house master sommelier.

In celebration, Sankara Nairobi presents a distinctive wine experience with famed winemakers Giorgio and George Dalla Cia; the masterminds behind Sankara’s award-winning wine programme. Commencing with the wine sale on Saturday 20th September guests will have the opportunity to personally interact with the Dalla Cia team in a relaxed setting whilst stocking up on unique wines not readily available elsewhere in the city. This will be followed up by an exceptional three course wine dinner paired with Dalla Cia wines. Giorgio Dalla Cia is recognised as a pioneer in the wine industry having won ‘producer of the best red in the world 2006’ and pioneering the first Bordeaux-style blend - the iconic Rubicon in South Africa.
