TripAdvisor presents Certificate Excellence Award to The Mere Golf Resort & Spa for second year running

The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, one of the leading North West destination resorts in the UK, has been awarded the prestigious 2014 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, for the second year running since the resort's re-launch in 2012.

The award honours hospitality excellence and places The Mere in the top-performing 10% of all businesses worldwide as the accolade is only given to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on the site.  Approximately 10 percent of accommodations listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award each year.

“This is further recognition of our continued focus on the training of our team to deliver outstanding customer service and the best possible experience for our guests and visitors. We are delighted to be awarded the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor for the second year running particularly as we celebrate our 30th anniversary this year.  We hope it will help encourage more visitors to the resort this summer as we have a packed programme from Boodles tennis to our 30th anniversary celebrations at the end of the year,” commented Mark Boler, founder and CEO of The Mere Gold Resort & Spa.

To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

"TripAdvisor is pleased to honour exceptional businesses for consistent excellence, as reviewed by travellers on the site," said Christine Petersen, President, TripAdvisor for Business. "The Certificate of Excellence Award gives highly rated establishments around the world the recognition they deserve. From exceptional accommodations in Beijing to remarkable restaurants in Boston, we want to applaud these businesses for offering TripAdvisor travellers a great customer experience."
