The second edition of MOMAD Shoes is generating favourable expectations in the footwear market

MOMAD Shoes, organised by IFEMA, will be held from 9 to 11 September in Halls 4 and 6 of Feria de Madrid

The favourable outlook being enjoyed by MOMAD Shoes, the International Footwear and Accessories Show, organised by IFEMA, which will be held from 9 to 11 September, is generating excellent expectations in the specialised Footwear market. The wide and varied offerings from over 470 brands - including the major Made in Spain brands - coming together in 10,000 square metres of exhibition space, coupled with the fact that it is held in the Iberian Peninsula, are factors that are much appreciated by dealers as they plan their visits to the fair, which this year is being held to coincide in timing and venue with MOMAD Metrópolis, Intergift, Bisutex and Iberjoya.

The footwear outlets chain Botticelli confirms its commitment to MOMAD Shoes in the words of Herminio Cruzado, deputy general manager: “It's an important fair to attend regularly - it's interesting and new brands are continuously signing up to participate. The chance to see a huge variety of what's on offer in the same place is a big plus”, he concludes.    

An opinion shared by Javier Costa, owner of the Foxter stores in Bilbao and San Sebastián. “Despite strong competition from other trade fair events, we have to be at MOMAD Shoes. Its single-themed footwear-only approach is definitely going to be a great benefit to all of us”.  

Another very popular feature for many of the trade representatives is the direct contact with suppliers that MOMAD Shoes makes possible. So states Silvia Alberti, of the business chain Calçats Munné. “We profit significantly from our attendance at the fair. The format enables us to work with many suppliers and optimise our visit”, she affirms.  

Marcelo Toural, executive manager of Krack Zapatería, says his company expects a lot from the fair.  In addition, “since the fair coincides with other popular shows, we can visit and contact more suppliers”, he states, referring to the timing of MOMAD Shoes to coincide with MOMAD Metrópolis, Intergift, Bisutex and Iberjoya.    

Meeting point for the Sector
The September gathering of MOMAD Shoes will again feature an impressive presence of national and international firms, in the Ladies', Men's and Children's segments. Participation is expected to continue to rise until the opening date, and will record an increase of 25% in the numbers taking part - compared to the last summer season before it became a single-themed footwear event - and also exceeding the participation figures from last March. These figures confirm the sector's support for the show's revamped format.
