The two day event, opened by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, connects business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, government and industry leaders and helps to commercialise Queensland ideas to the world.
Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said he was thrilled the Advance Queensland Innovation and Investment Summit had chosen the state-of-the-art Royal ICC as their venue.
“It’s a coup for the Royal ICC to attract such high profile events and it really shows the diversity of events we are able to stage,’’ he said.
“We support Queensland innovation and it’s a pleasure to host an event which provides a platform for showcasing the bright ideas of Queenslanders to the world.”
In addition to the two day program, the summit opened with an interactive culinary event last night with world famous Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai and celebrity chefs Matt Golinski and Alastair McLeod cooking up six courses in the Royal ICC’s world class kitchen. The Summit wraps up tomorrow afternoon.
The Royal ICC is located 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD at the Brisbane Showgrounds, one of the city’s most prominent events precincts. Since opening in March, 2013 the Royal ICC has hosted almost 500 events.
