Customers laud Messe Stuttgart’s Guest Events department in recent surveyThe results of the most recent customer survey in 2015 are in, and they could scarcely be better. “Among all the responses received, not one event organiser stated that they wouldn’t book us again, whether for an exhibition in our halls or a congress on the premises of the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart”, reports an excited Stefan Lohnert, Division Director Guest Events at Messe Stuttgart. It will definitely be hard to top that! “This sensational result shows how important it is to event organisers to have the strategies they’ve devised implemented to the letter in a professional, reliable manner on-site”, Lohnert continues. “This is the only way to ensure the success of a congress or exhibition while achieving the highest possible customer satisfaction and retention.”
At the 145 exhibitions, conferences and other gatherings it organised in 2015, Guest Events tallied some 10,550 exhibitors and 392,600 visitors. The versatile facilities offered by the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart, exhibition halls featuring natural light and cutting-edge standards, a transportation infrastructure that is unparalleled in Europe, and an array of excellent hotels are all further factors that are leading more and more success-oriented organisers to choose Stuttgart as the location of their next event.
Of Messe Stuttgart’s clients, 27 percent are first-time customers, and nearly every third organiser turns into a repeat visitor. “We put a lot of effort into customer acquisition, which includes attending every important industry event”, explains Lohnert regarding the organisation’s strategy. Those who want to learn first-hand about the possibilities that Stuttgart offers exhibition organisers may be interested in attending the upcoming IMEX – the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events – on 19 - 21 April 2016 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The Guest Events team will be on hand at the shared stand of Region Stuttgart (Stand F020 in Hall 8).
The service concept at the heart of this success is something the Guest Events team has perfected and continues to follow every day. The customer survey has demonstrated this to impressive effect: A full 100 percent of the participating organisers reported being satisfied or very satisfied with the team’s project management support during their events. “No matter whether we asked about technical realisation, setup and teardown, how their needs and wishes were met during the events, or how the events went overall, not one of our contacts was less than happy with our services”, Lohnert affirms. Right from the initial contact – that is, in the enquiry and quotation phase – the Guest Events team garnered top marks. This was another area in which the survey found not even a single customer who was critical or entirely dissatisfied.
Upon their completion in early 2018, the new Paul Horn Hall and the conference rooms and service facilities being added to the western entrance area will make Messe Stuttgart an even more attractive location for all manner of exhibitions and other events. This effort will expand the premises to a gross area of 120,000 square metres. “We’ve already had numerous event organisers confirm reservations for these new facilities”, reports Lohnert, who has plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future.
