More than 350 guests will attend the prestigious lunch which will be staged in the historic John Reid Pavilion, known for its soaring ceilings and industrial-style interior.
Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager Venue Sales and Marketing Sally Pulford said it was a thrill to be hosting such an iconic event on the sporting calender.
“Queenslanders love their State of Origin, so it’s the perfect fit to hold such a significant event at the historic showgrounds precinct,” she said.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the stars of Queensland rugby league and treating them to a three-course lunch created by our expert Royal ICC chefs using award-winning produce.”
The 2015 Queensland Maroons team, coach and team management will be announced at the lunch today.
Queensland Rugby League have partnered with the Australian Defence Force to commemorate 100 years of Anzac spirit.
The event will be hosted by John McCoy and will feature Victoria Cross recipient Dan Keighran VC as a guest speaker.
Other guests include star players, former Origin greats, Australian Rugby League selectors, Queensland Rugby League Board of Directors, corporate guests, politicians and the 1975 Queensland Maroons Team.
The Brisbane Showgrounds is located 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD.
