United Airlines to introduce 787-9 Dreamliner to
London-Los Angeles service

United Airlines today announced it will enhance the onboard experience for its customers travelling from London Heathrow to its hub at Los Angeles International Airport, by introducing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to the daily nonstop service from April 6, 2016 (westbound).

The visionary design of the Dreamliner offers customers many features for increased comfort such as large windows, spacious overhead storage and modern LED lighting to simulate a full day, helping passengers adjust their internal clock on the trans-Atlantic flight.  In addition, a lower cabin altitude, cleaner air and smoother ride help customers feel rested on arrival.

United's 787-9 aircraft is configured with a total of 252 seats – 48 seats in United BusinessFirst and 204 seats in United Economy, including 88 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space.

“We are excited to introduce the 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on our nonstop London Heathrow-Los Angeles service.  Our customers will notice a real difference on board this revolutionary aircraft”, said Bob Schumacher, United’s Managing Director Sales – U.K. & Ireland.  “This will be our third Dreamliner flying from Heathrow, as we already operate two 787-8s on our Houston route.”

Flight UA935 departs London Heathrow at 10:35 a.m., arriving in Los Angeles at 1:50 p.m. the same day.  The return flight, UA934, departs Los Angeles at 5:45 p.m., arriving in London at 12:15 p.m. the following day (all times local).  Flight times are 11 hours 15 minutes westbound and ten hours 30 minutes eastbound.

United currently operates the Boeing 787-8 on its daily flights UA96 and UA5 from London Heathrow to its Houston hub, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, with a flight time of 10 hours 10 minutes westbound.  The return flights, UA97 and UA4, depart Houston daily and arrive in London the following day, with a flight time of nine hours 10 minutes eastbound.
