Around 900 flights will be affected - Check flight status at www.germanwings.comThe VC Cockpit union has announced a strike on Germanwings aircraft and control centre between Thursday, 12 February at 23.00 (UTC) and Friday, 13 February at 22.59 (UTC). To give its passengers planning security, the German airline is preparing a replacement flight-plan which will apply from Thursday during the strike period. A total of around 900 flights will be affected during the strike period. The replacement flight plan will be released on Wednesday afternoon (today). Germanwings is trying to cover as many flights as possible with its own pilots or chartered machines of other airlines.
From the afternoon onwards, all passengers are therefore asked to check the current status of their flights on www.germanwings.com/flightstatus where the latest information will be posted regularly. If your flight is withdrawn, you can cancel or rebook your flight free of charge at germanwings.com or by contacting the call centre. Passengers on cancelled flights can rebook rail connections within Germany. Vouchers for the train can be issued by the call centre or at Germanwings airports. Routes served by Eurowings are not affected by the strike as their pilots are not employed within the Lufthansa group collective agreement.
Germanwings apologises for any inconvenience caused to passengers by this industrial action, and is striving to keep its effects to a minimum.
