Turkish Airlines announces flight increases to Manchester

In response to greater demand for international travel and growth in passenger numbers, Turkish Airlines will be increasing its flight services from Manchester Airport to Istanbul by an additional 4 flights per week as from 25 May 2015, followed by an extra 3 per week from 22 June 2015.

Ersen Engin, General Manager for Manchester, Turkish Airlines commented, “Outside of London, Manchester is the biggest UK airport London, serving almost 22 million passengers a year to reach more than 200 destinations worldwide. Over the summer months, these numbers are expected to soar as residents of Manchester and surrounding areas embark on their summer vacations.

In 2014, we saw our passenger numbers increase by 18% from January to August, compared to the same period in 2013. As Istanbul is a hot destination for long weekend breaks and extended summer holidays, Turkish Airlines will be increasing its weekly flight services from Manchester to Istanbul by an additional 4 flights per week as from 25 May 2015, followed by an extra 3 per week from 22 June 2015, leading to a total of 3 flights per day. The new flight is scheduled to depart Manchester at 23:45, designed to give additional seamless connections to Eastern Europe, parts of the Middle East and key domestic destinations within Turkey. Travellers using the new TK1492 will be able to reach some cities before noon, giving the chance to enjoy breakfast in a different country.

Turkish Airlines continues to achieve great success, and is one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe. For the fourth consecutive year, we were chosen as the ‘Best Airline in Europe’ at the 2014 Skytrax World Airline awards. Turkish Airlines currently fly to 108 countries - which is more than any other airline across the globe."
