Explore Brazil's World Cup host cities with TAP's newly launched route to Manaus and Belem

As World Cup fever subsides and Brazil returns to its normal pace of life, now is the time to explore the richly diverse country which has been and continues to be under the spotlight with the next Olympic Games.
Increasing access to Brazil evermore this year, TAP expanded its route network in June 2014 to include two exciting destinations in the north of the country, Manaus and Belém. With rich culture, nightlife and wildlife on the doorstep, discover the host cities’ highlights, now the crowds have left.

The new route operates with three weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, following the schedule Lisbon – Manaus – Belem – Lisbon, allowing TAP to enter Northern Brazil for the first time, a region with great potential for tourism and where the offer of international flights remains scarce.

UK travellers can replace any sore memories associated with Manaus with an unforgettable rainforest and wildlife adventure as this capital city of the state of Amazonas is Brazil’s prime gateway to the heart of the Amazon. The fast growing ‘jungle’ city is also brimming with rewarding experiences including the chance to visit renowned monuments such as the Palacio Rio Negro, Justice Palace and Teatro Amazonas, a famous opera house, alongside a collection of museums.

The city of Belém, with its streets and parks shaded by mango trees, bohemian nightlight and historical buildings, is a charming city well worth a visit. Interesting sites include the Basílica Santuario de Nazaré which boasts impressive interiors of stained glass windows and soaring marble columns and the majestic 18th-century Catedral da Sé (Belem Cathedral). Belém is also home to the annual Círio de Nazaré, one of the world's largest festivals taking place October each year. From here guests can also embark on an Amazon River tour, including sunrise bird watching tours and evening cruises seeing the plentiful wildlife on the river banks.

Alongside Manaus and Belém, TAP also provides links via Lisbon to ten further Brazilian destinations operating 82 flights a week, including Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Natal, Recife, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Campinas and Fortaleza.

Fly with TAP to 12 destinations in Brazil from £596 return including all taxes and charges. Price on sale 20th August - 20th September 2014, travel between 1st October – 16th December 2014 and 15th January - 26th March 2015
