Malaysia Airlines serves up new inflight dishes

Range of new ‘Hero’ meals available for Economy passengers

Malaysia Airlines has introduced a new 'Hero Dishes' menu that promises to tantalise the tastebuds of the airline’s UK Economy Class passengers flying between London and Kuala Lumpur. The menus have been developed to give popular dishes a fusion twist, offering passengers an exciting in-flight food experience before they have even arrived in Asia.

Among the 'Hero Dishes' available for Economy Class passengers to enjoy are Fried Rice with Lemongrass Chicken, Beef Rendang Lasagne, Moussaka and Chicken Tikka Masala. Passengers travellingbetween London Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur, as well as other European destinations, are given two choices from the new menu.

The dishes were created after extensive research on traditional cuisine from around the world. The menu was developed around new cooking techniques and marrying flavours to create exciting meals to meet passenger’s preferences.

According to Malaysia Airlines’ Regional Senior Vice President for Europe, Huib Gorter, "As part of constantly working to improve our guest experience onboard, our food philosophy puts a heavy emphasis on texture, harmony of flavours and a sense of overall balance of the dishes. The new menu specially caters to the taste buds of our European guests. Much research and food tasting was done to ensure the taste and flavours are to their liking, and at the same time appeal to other international guests. While there are many European delicacies on the menu, authentic Asian delights are also included.”

For flights from Kuala Lumpur to destinations in Asia, North Asia, India, Europe – including the UK, the Middle East and Australia/New Zealand, Economy Class passengers now also have the option to upgrade their meal to a premium ‘MH Gourmet’ meal in advance of their travels. Served complete with appetiser and dessert alongside perfectly baked bread rolls and chocolates, passengers have six delicious Western and Japanese menu options to choose from. MH Gourmet meals are available for order from only £12.75 per meal and can be booked through Malaysia Airlines Ticket Offices worldwide.
