Air Partner flew Pol Roger’s 36 guests from London Stansted to Châlons Vatry in France for a day of exclusive tastings at Maison Pol Roger in Epernay. Guests flew from a luxury private terminal and enjoyed Pol Roger champagne during the flight, before participating in a cellar tour, followed by an exclusive wine tasting and lunch.
The Group had the opportunity to try a number of different vintages of Pol Roger’s Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, showcasing the style of champagne that Sir Winston himself preferred: robust, full-flavoured and mature (the Sir Winston Churchill Cuvée is always released later than other Pol Roger vintage champagnes).
Sir Winston Churchill had a lifelong ‘attachment’ to Pol Roger champagne and insisted on drinking the wine throughout his life. When Churchill died in 1965, all bottles of ‘White Foil’ destined for the UK were bordered in black in tribute to Sir Winston’s loyalty and friendship. In 1984, Pol Roger launched the Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill at Blenheim Palace, his birthplace. This was re-released in 2006 in a new livery with lively shades of marine blue and red recalling the resplendent uniform worn by Sir Winston during his tenure of the Wardenship of the Cinque Ports.
Clive Chalmers, Air Partner’s UK Director of Commercial Jets, commented, “This truly is a very exclusive experience, and we are delighted to have been able to work with the team at Pol Roger to provide such an event for their guests. Air charter offers a bespoke service for clients who are looking to create a big impact, and make the flight part of the experience.”
James Simpson, Sales and Marketing Director of Pol Roger Ltd said of the collaboration “This is a hugely significant launch for Pol Roger and we are delighted to be working with our fellow Royal Warrant Holders on this unique day.”
