Oman Air celebrates contribution of Services Delivery Unit to success in 2013

Oman Air has celebrated the contribution made by staff in its Services Delivery Unit towards the airline’s success during 2013. The celebration took place at an event held at Oman Air’s headquarters in Muscat and was attended by Services Delivery Unit staff, Senior Managers and the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Wayne Pearce.

The Unit, which includes Airport Operations both in Oman and overseas as well as Ground Operations, Catering, Work shop, Ramp services and Cargo, is responsible for much of the ‘behind the scenes’ work which ensures that flights depart on time and that passengers enjoy a seamless experience.

Wayne Pearce commented:   “On behalf of the Board of Directors of Oman Air and my senior management team, I would like to express our thanks for the outstanding efforts and commitment of staff within the company’s Services Delivery Unit throughout 2013. Over the course of the year, Oman Air increased frequencies on many routes, carried more passengers to more destinations than ever before and recorded a superb, industry-high, on-time performance of just under 90% for 2013 with an exceptional May, when we achieved 100% on-time performance throughout our network. None of this could have been achieved without the hard work and dedication of our Services Delivery Unit and it has been a pleasure to honour them at today’s event.”

Chief Officer Airport Operations, Andrew Walsh added:   “Our Services Delivery Unit comprises Airport Operations, Ground Operations, Catering, Ramp Services and Cargo staff, all of whom play vital roles in ensuring that our customers have a punctual and enjoyable flights. However, much of their work is conducted out of the public eye, so today has been an important opportunity to shine a light on their contributions and to recognize the important role they play in safeguarding Oman Air’s ongoing success. We are grateful to every member of the Unit’s staff for helping to make 2013 such a successful year for Oman Air.”

Saleem Amanulla, General Manager Airport Operations at Oman Air, concluded:   “The Services Delivery Unit brings together a number of teams, all of whom are essential to making sure that Oman Air’s customers enjoy a comfortable, efficient and punctual journey every time they fly with us. I am extremely pleased that their contributions throughout 2013 have been recognized at today’s event and I look forward to working closely with them in 2014 to deliver even greater success.”
