EL AL Israel Airlines adds 65 flights in September to accommodate high demand for travel to Israel

Due to the high demand for travel to Israel in September due to the Jewish High Holiday period, EL AL has added 65 flights to its schedule equaling 25,000 seats to accommodate passengers.  This year, the holidays occur entirely in September and are a traditional time for visits to Israel.  As well, Christian group travel is in high demand during this period with events like the Feast of Tabernacles to take place in Jerusalem, expecting over 8,000 participants from around the world.

Over 100,000 tourists to Israel are expected to fly with EL AL during September.  Flights have been added during the month on the routes to New York, Bangkok, London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Athens and Kiev.  The increase is also to accommodate the high travel demands of Israelis to these various destinations during the holidays.

Elyezer Shkedy, President & CEO of EL AL Israel Airlines: "EL AL has done all that is possible to ensure that those who travel to and from Israel have the best option with our airline. We have added seats to accommodate tourists to Israel so that they can experience all that Israel has to offer."

David Maimon, Vice-President Commercial and Industry Affairs added: "The forecast for the last quarter of 2013 is excellent.  We see high demand for group travel especially in the Christian market from all denominations compared to the previous year. We continue to receive requests for groups and will do all to accommodate them."
