Air Partner wins contract with British Airways to fuel A380 and B787

Leading air charter broker, Air Partner, has announced that it has signed a contract with British Airways to fuel the airline’s new Airbus A30 superjumbo and Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Air Partner will fill up the A380 for the duration of the aircraft’s time at Manston Airport. The tank of this extremely large aircraft can hold up to 81,890 US Gallons of fuel – equivalent to 545,890 pints of milk! After the completion of this piece of work, Air Partner will work with British Airways to fuel the B787.

British Airways is the first UK carrier to take delivery of the double-decker A380 - the world’s largest commercial jet. The aircraft that Air Partner will be working with is the first of British Airways’ 12 A380s.

Paul Walker, Air Partner’s Business Development Director, commented, “We are very proud of the strong network of relationships that we have developed within Air Partner’s Fuel division, and it is through both these contacts, and our in-house expertise, that we were able to provide British Airways and Manston Airport with the best possible experience.”

Ian Fuller, British Airways’ Fuel Executive, said, “We had an excellent experience working with Air Partner to set up this contract. The team were helpful and professional, and always went out of their way to go the extra mile during the extremely busy and high profile launch of our new A380 and B787 aircraft.”

Charles Buchanan, CEO of Manston Airport, said, “Working with Air Partner has been integral to delivering today’s exciting arrival of British Airways A380. The team at Manston has valued the expertise that Air Partner has brought to the preparation and planning for the programme.  It demonstrates the capability, flexibility and above all capacity that Manston, working with others in the industry, can bring to serve the increasing demand for air transport of all kinds. We look forward to playing our full part in the continuing debate over airport capacity in the South East.”

Air Partner’s Fuel division has strategic relationships with all major fuel suppliers and fuel resellers, which enables the Group to provide refuelling facilities in over 3,000 locations worldwide. A continually updated database of fuel prices, charges, taxes, fuel locations and government restrictions means that Air Partner is able to deliver a truly competitive service.

Air Partner’s Travel department is also available to assist clients with bookings on the A380 for services to Los Angeles and Hong Kong from autumn 2013, which are the first routes to be announced.
