The contract win is another significant milestone for Air Partner and its dedicated Inclusive Tour team, which has rapidly grown its presence in the tour operator sector since 2012.
The programme will operate on a Germania A319-150Y aircraft out of Gatwick until October 2013. Air Partner anticipates providing approximately 215 flights to the islands of Corfu, Kefalonia, Skiathos, Crete, Samos and Lemnos, as well as to the mainland airports of Preveza, Volos and Kalamata.
Air Partner selected Germania to operate the flights after a thorough search process, and the German based operator will now maintain an A319 aircraft at Gatwick for the entire summer. Air Partner has been contracted to provide a full service programme, complete with pre-allocated seating, a hot food service and increased baggage allowance. Air Partner’s ability to identify and broker a contract with an operator of Germania’s quality, including comfortable onboard service levels for Sunvil and GIC’s customers, provides the tour operators with a clear differentiation away from the modern trend for ‘no-frills’ air transportation.
The contract was negotiated and brokered by Air Partner’s Jerome Newton, who joined the Group from Monarch in November 2011, with a mandate to help Air Partner grow its market share in the Inclusive Tour market. The Sunvil and GIC contracts are one of many new tour operator wins in 2013, having previously announced contracts with Silver Ski and Olympic. Newton, who has 20 years experience in the sector, is currently negotiating other inclusive tour operator programmes for the winter season.
Jerome Newton, Air Partner’s Inclusive Tours Manager, said: “We have been able to identify and provide Sunvil Holidays and GIC with guaranteed reliability and high end service levels for their summer flying programme. Air Partner’s in-house expertise and 51 year trading history enables us to access a network of relationships with hundreds of airlines all over the world, providing our clients with reliable and best value solutions tailored to their individual flying requirements.”
Paul Argyle, head of Air Partner’s Commercial Jet Division commented: “Tour operating is a natural sector for Air Partner that plays to our skills and experience. We’ve won a number of new contracts and I am pleased more tour operators are deciding to leverage our independence, network and broking skills. We are excited about this programme - we’ve put together a very good solution that provides Sunvil and GIC with reliability and value, while providing their customers with an enhanced holiday experience.”
Chris Wright, managing director of Sunvil Holidays, said: “Air Partner has identified and brokered a solution that gives our customers what they asked for - reliable, high end and well serviced flights to and from their holidays. This has been reflected in the initial feedback from customers - which has been very positive and exactly in line with expectations.”
