A new Purple Guide is launched

A new guide to help organisers find their way round the myriad of legislation and guidelines covering events has been published by the Events Industry Forum (EIF).
The Purple Guide, which has been written and produced by bringing together people from across the events industry and government, is designed to replace a document originally produced by the industry with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) entitled ‘HSG195 A guide to health, safety and welfare at music and similar events’.

PATA makes changes to focus on HCD and CSR

The Pacific Asia Travel Association is making internal staff changes to meet the association's increased commitment to Human Capital Development (HCD), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and enhanced digital communications.
Effective immediately, former Communications Manager, Parita Niemwongse, will take up the role of Manager-Human Capital Development Projects and Awards. Halona Padiachy has been appointed Manager-Communications. Ms Chi Lo has been appointed Engagement Strategist – Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist to fulfil the Association's responsible tourism priorities.

Capita travel and events sells Wi-Fi on East Coast Main Line bookings

Capita travel and events’ customers can now purchase Wi-Fi codes from the agency in conjunction with their standard class rail ticket on the East Coast Main Line.  The development is the latest of Capita travel and events’ innovations to reduce the total cost of travel whilst enhancing the traveller’s experience en-route.

JMIC Membership increases to Fifteen International Associations

Philippe Fournier, President of the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC) has announced that ASAE and the Centre for Association Leadership and IFES, the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services, have now joined the Council, taking its membership to fifteen major international industry organisations.
