It is the tenth London Livery Hall to join the Chester Boyd portfolio – and replaces incumbent supplier Payne & Gunter. It joins Brewers’, Butchers’ Coopers’ and Goldsmiths’ Halls, among others, in choosing Chester Boyd to its supply catering services and is a significant appointment for the caterer.
The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers can trace its history back to 1403 and is numbered 47 in precedence among Livery Companies. Its premises in Ave Maria Lane, EC4, maintain the Company’s centuries’ old tradition of being close to St Paul’s Cathedral. The Hall has a comprehensive range of facilities. It can accommodate up to 400 for standing buffets; has a secluded garden that can accommodate over 100 people; holds a wedding licence; and is available for meetings and conferences, and events at competitive rates.
Based in the City of London's Square Mile, Chester Boyd has built its reputation on its ability to cook exquisite, traditional food, infused with contemporary flair.
Chester Boyd Chief Executive, Alison Tyler said: “We are honoured that Stationers’ Hall has chosen us. We have spent years nurturing a reputation as the home of talented executive chefs housed in a select portfolio of historic and exclusive venues, all cooking dependably exquisite traditional British food, infused with contemporary taste and flair. This appointment is a vindication of our efforts and moves the total of Livery Halls in our portfolio into double figures. We will do our best to live up to the traditions and standards of the Worshipful Company every day.”
