Powder White boosts its corporate ski arm as MICE market restores faith in the mountains

Leading independent ski specialist Powder White has launched its 2012/13 corporate ski trips programme, following its best ever season for corporate enquiries where bookings were up by 70%.
The specialist tailor-made operator has chosen the Austrian resort of St Anton as its preferred MICE destination, thanks to its easy one hour transfer from Innsbruck airport, range of accommodation and event space options and large choice of incentive activities and facilities.

Corporate groups will be able to choose from a range of chalet or hotel options to cater to any group size, with top recommendations including the contemporary 4-star Asia-inspired Hotel Banyan in the heart of the resort and the new Chalet Fritz, a large ten-bedroom chalet with its own bar being added to the programme for this season and currently undergoing complete refurbishment.

In line with the philosophy to help guests get more from the mountains, Powder White has also introduced a range of new incentive and team building activities.

Highlights include indoor climbing, a great après-ski activity for cold winter nights or the 4.5km ‘Rodelling’ run down from Gampen through the trees. For incentives, once-in-a-lifetime heli-ski drops can be arranged in the neighbouring resort of Lech, whilst keen skiiers can join Off-Piste sessions to take advantage of St Anton’s breathtaking tree-skiing and back-country terrain.

For meetings and events, Powder White has teamed up with St Anton Museum, housed in the beautiful Arlberg-Kandahar House just moments from Chalet Fritz. Four meeting rooms surrounding a beautiful lobby with open fireplace seat between 10 and 30 people and range from the alpine styled Study and Bauernstube to the elegant Piano room. The house can also be offered as a stunning conference and event venue, catering to up to 70 guests.

“The Alps are the perfect short-haul destination for corporate trips but are often deemed too complex with the traditional ski holiday model restricting shorter stays,” commented Powder White co-founder Fraser Ewart-White.

“Powder White’s first-hand knowledge of the resort, flexible durations and catering options and understanding of the extra levels of service needed for corporate groups ensure we are able to create a completely tailor-made, innovative experience for every budget.”

Last season’s bumper snow, which was touted as the best in a decade has helped boost interest for the forthcoming season with enquiries from the MICE market keen to capitalise on the renewed faith in snow conditions.
