ATP Event Experts reports surge for authentic British experiences during Olympic Games

With just over a week to go until the starter’s pistol kicks off the London 2012 Olympic Games, specialist corporate hospitality and events business ATP Event Experts has reported a substantial increase in hospitality requests from clients seeking authentically British experiences.

Event-bookers and corporate clients in record numbers are opting for more traditional British experiences alongside the usual fine dining establishments used for hospitality purposes. Ale tastings at gastro pubs and British cookery classes at family run businesses are just a few of the more traditional experiences that have moved to the top of the list as corporate clients from around the world make enquiries into what the ‘real’ London has to offer for corporate entertaining.

The surge in requests has come as no surprise to ATP Event Experts who, since early 2010 have had a dedicated on-the-ground team carrying out host inspections on the capital’s finest Michelin starred restaurants, gastro pubs and neighbourhood ‘locals’ to ensure the most desirable venues and event spaces were secured in anticipation of the predicted surge.

Neil Pace, Head of UK Event Operations, ATP Event Experts comments: “Our events and corporate travel teams have been preparing for the 2012 Games since the day of the announcement was made and a big part of that has been to use our expertise and knowledge of London to evaluate the best venues and destinations for those clients who we knew would be keen to get a taste of what life is like for the typical Londoner. As a result, over the past few years our teams have been busy sourcing and securing hospitality spaces within the city’s famed locals, foodie pubs serving real ale, and the more traditional drinking establishments to ensure that anyone who wants to enjoy an authentically British experience will get the opportunity to do so.”
