Team Challenge Company marks 15th birthday with 15 challenges

One of the UK’s leading team building and corporate events businesses, Team Challenge Company, is celebrating 15 successful years in the industry by taking on 15 challenges.
The Dunfermline-based business is honouring the special anniversary with staff signing up to challenges from a 15 mile hike, racing a peddle car at 15mph and being the fastest person to recite the mathematical value of Pi to 15 digits.

In 2001 when Harry Potter was first hitting cinema screens, Gerard Crowley and Stephen Hazley founded the company in a one-bedroom flat. Now, Team Challenge Company has an annual turnover of over £1 million, employs 30 people during peak seasons and works with household names including AG Barr, Heineken and Aldi.

In addition to providing all traditional team building activities, Team Challenge Company offers events where attendees can build and race their very own pedal-powered kart in a  Soap Box Derby; brave insect eating trials with the Bush Tucker event; and test their mental and physical abilities with ‘Beat the Clock’.

In 2015 as the trend for ‘gamification’ at corporate events was emerging Team Challenge Company introduced the most advanced treasure hunt app, Go Team, to the Scottish market. The pioneering software seen at TEDx events creates interactive challenges and team building activities which can turn corporate events into adult playgrounds.

Speaking of the milestone, co-director Gerard Crowley said, “Myself and Stephen are extremely proud of what we have achieved over the last 15 years and are looking forward to the next 15.

“Despite pressures on the industry caused by the economy, we believe by continuing to push creative boundaries, delivering innovative and fun ideas, we shall further increase our presence in our target business sectors across technology, financial and pharmaceuticals.”

Describing one of his most memorable achievements, Gerard said, ‘One of my proudest moments happened when we moved into our new 5,500 square foot office space in Dunfermline. Having previously been located in a unit a tenth of the size, we were amazed by the enormity of the space, and we were unsure how to fill it. It was at this moment that we knew our plans were coming together and we set in motion our objective to double the size of our existing operation as we strive to become the top team building provider in the UK.”
