Construction giant Morgan Sindall Group joins forces with Bear Grylls

Bear Grylls Survival Race competitors
Starting summer 2016, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and London will be the host sites of some truly unique activity days for all ages. Now in its second year, the Bear Grylls Survival Race and Outdoor Family Festival has returned, even bigger and better than before.

This year, our events are going that bit further with help from the Morgan Sindall group. The challenge? To build FOUR brand new flagship obstacles for the 2016 BGSR as part of a new team building initiate by the Morgan Sindall group. The 4 obstacles need to take on different themes including Jungle, Mountain, Arctic and Desert, the aim being to transport people out their local surroundings and into the world of Bear Grylls. It’s sure to be an epic surprise!

The four new obstacles will be like nothing that has been seen before in muddy racing, something for the true adventurers out there.

The event itself is comprised of 5k and 10k Survival Races, a Bear Grylls Kids Race and a fantastic Bear Grylls Outdoor Festival; truly a day unlike any other! The Bear Grylls Survival Race team to oversee the festivities and bring to life Bear’s world renowned spirit of endeavor, fitness and adventure.

We caught up with Bear Grylls himself to find out what he thinks about this new challenge; "I am really excited that the BGSR team is working with the Morgan Sindall Group. We have set them a challenge of working with our race team to design and build 4 new flagship obstacles for the BGSR's this year. The enthusiasm we have seen so far is incredible and I hope it is the start of a long and prosperous partnership. We can’t wait to see the finished obstacles being tackled by 1000's of racers this year."

For those not in the know, the popularity of adventurous and challenging obstacle courses has sky rocketed and the Bear Grylls Survival Race takes this concept to a whole new level. We think Bear puts it rather well;

“This is about empowering people to test and extend their adventure fitness, using the type of obstacles that I have often encountered in the wild. We all have an edge, and this race is designed to push those physical and mental limits, to there & beyond.”

As for Morgan Sindall themselves, being one of the UK’s leading construction and regeneration groups, operating in the public and commercial sectors, they are a fantastic partner for the BGSR.

They work within five divisions; construction and infrastructure, fit out, affordable housing, urban regeneration and investments. Their all-encompassing approach to regeneration and construction has not only made them a force to be reckoned with in the UK, but also, has made them an incredible partner to work with. By drawing off their vast network of talented professionals to design the new obstacles, the Bear Grylls Survival Race is set to be better than ever before!
