This year we have the most active and passionate board I have been a part of and we need to pool that energy and make plans that actual help each of our members businesses.
Following the AGM on 11th July, where the new board was announced, more than twenty top agencies and senior communications professionals gathered for a Senior Leaders Summit.
EVCOM had the idea of bringing together a carefully selected group of forward thinking agencies for a professionally facilitated, lively and interactive discussion on the most relevant industry matters. Those who attended included: Activate, Ashfield Meetings & Events, BlueHat, C2, First Event, Grass Roots, Heather Robinson, Inntel, MCHA Ltd, MCI, Penguin Events, Pure Events, RLC, Stage Struck, TTA, Wild Goose, Zibrant, MD Events, drp, Kabuki Productions, Jack Morton, TFI Group and Rapport.
The purpose of this exclusive forum was to discuss key issues affecting the industry, propose strategies for the year ahead and to produce key out-puts for the industry and the association. Topics discussed included: the outcome of the EU referendum, as well as other pertinent themes such as cyber security and virtual replacement of face to face meetings.
Andrew Winterburn, Vice Chairman of EVCOM commented: “the EVCOM Senior Leaders Summit has developed from previous Senior Advisory Councils and is an inspirational event pulling together leaders from across our sector representing every aspect of the communication industry from clients, agencies, producers to suppliers and freelancers. We recognise the value and power of bringing like-minded professionals together and are delighted so many agencies of such high caliber were keen to be involved. As an association we cannot produce effective solutions to the challenges faced within our industry without consultation, collaboration and contribution from such senior leaders as they are the voice of our ever growing membership. Yesterday was all about using the information gleaned from this event to help map out our plan of action for the next 12 months and of course to welcome to the board new faces and old."
