Working with operators, brands and attractions, the British Hospitality Association (BHA) sets the agenda and provides an intelligent and reliable voice to government to make positive and long-lasting changes to shape and promote the tourism industry.
Ceredigion-based Welsh Rarebits Collection comprises of 46 of Wales’ top independent hotels. Its membership of the BHA will see it share Wales-specific perspectives and challenges facing its member base.
By strengthening its voice in Wales, the Welsh Rarebits Collection will work with the BHA to challenge the VAT rate and urge a cut within the tourism industry as a priority.
Mike Morgan, Director of Welsh Rarebits said: “We’re thrilled to be a member of the well-respected British Hospitality Association. We’re keen to work closely with them to make the industry more sustainable, profitable and to tackle key hospitality issues head-on.
“The first issue I’d like to put forward on the agenda is the current level of VAT on tourism. This can’t continue as it is and I’m looking forward to discussing ways of working with the BHA to ensure we are heard by the right people.”
Phil Wade, BHA Marketing and Membership Director added “We are delighted to add the Welsh Rarebits Collection’s national knowledge and flair to our UK voice. We welcome similar associations to join us, where we can provide business services and advice to help them thrive, together with access and clout at the heart of the UK government.”
