Delegates being turned into on-screen starsTeam engagement and conferencing specialist KDM Events has launched two new products giving participants the experience of starring in their own on-screen productions. With a nod to the Mitchell Brothers and the Rovers Return, Up Your Street allows participants to script and film their own episode of TV soap opera episode, while Lip Sync Challenge places delegates right at the centre of classic pop videos.
KDM Commercial Director Nicky Whyman said “Many of us harbour unfulfilled dreams of appearing on screen and it’s amazing how some of the most reserved individuals come out of their shell in front of a film camera or beneath a blonde bombshell wig.
“We’re seeing a lot of client interest in these performance-related team building activities as a means of injecting an element of fun, breaking down barriers and generating spontaneous camaraderie amongst groups that could otherwise have taken months to bond.”
Up Your Street provides the ultimate role-play session with essential collaboration. Supplied with dialogue and character names, team members become the writers, cast, and camera crew of a soap mash-up. With core characters and common opening and closing lines, each team produces its own portion of the TV drama. All the teams’ efforts are then stitched together and shown on a large screen as the finale of the event.
Because Lip Sync Challenge uses mime, the only talent required of participants is a willingness to learn lines and channel their inner pop star – in the company of colleagues. Delegates choose a song from one of the pop classics - such as Is this the way to Amarillo? or Bohemian Rhapsody and are then filmed in groups performing their allocated lines in front of a green screen. KDM’s onsite team edits the film together with themed digital background and original sound track to produce a music video that can be shown as the culmination to the event. Participants can take home copies of their souvenir DVD.
