HeadBox expands into Birmingham and Manchester

HeadBox CEO and founder, Andrew Needham,
Yesterday (18 May 2016), HeadBox the UK’s first online market place for creative, inspiring and off-site spaces, has launched in Birmingham and Manchester. Following the platform’s success in London, the extension means corporates and SME bookers will be able to instantly search, book and pay for a space for any type of event from launches and award ceremonies to private dinners, away days, ideation sessions, photography shoots and fashion shows in Birmingham and Manchester.

So far HeadBox has unlocked over 250 spaces across both cities. Manchester venues include: People’s History Museum, TNQ and Albert Hall. Birmingham venues include: Council House Banqueting Suite, Ikon Gallery and Adam's Restaurant.

Since its launch in London in October 2015, HeadBox has processed thousands of enquires and bookings whilst doubling the unique visitors to the website. Its clients in London include companies such as L’Oreal, Google, Sky, Diageo and the BBC. HeadBox has also unlocked over 2,000 under-utilised spaces across the capital including: coffee shops, art galleries, dance and yoga studios, theatres and bars and driven additional revenue to them.

HeadBox CEO and founder, Andrew Needham, says: “There is no-one like us in the UK as we are the first and only venue market place that cuts out the middle man by allowing Guests to book and pay instantly as well as communicate directly with Host venues via an instant messaging feature. This puts us in a unique position to expand and with Birmingham and Manchester bursting with a wide variety of quirky and creative spaces it was only natural we went there next. We are looking forward to disrupting the traditional listings approach and opening up the under-utilized, creative and unexpected off-site locations across these and other UK and global cities.”

Glee Club managing director, Mark Tughan, adds: “We are so excited that HeadBox is coming up north. Being a comedy, music and special events club means we have certain hours of the day the space is not in use. After seeing HeadBox’s success in London, we couldn’t wait to be listed and be part of this inspiring community. Our number one priority is our client, a philosophy we share with HeadBox. The ability for Hosts and Guests to connect directly ensures a seamless, fast and hassle free experience for our customers.”
