A member of the PCMA staff since 2000, Peacy became Vice President, Meetings & Events in February 2006 and led efforts in all PCMA face to face events including Convening Leaders, Education Conference and many more.
In February, 2012, Peacy was promoted to Senior Vice President of Education and Events, taking on education strategies and was instrumental in the growth and innovations behind PCMA’s face to face educational programs. In May 2015, Peacy was named one of the “25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry” by Successful Meetings magazine.
“Under Kelly Peacy's leadership, with contributions from our staff and collaborators, PCMA's face to face events have become the very definition of innovation throughout the meetings industry” said Deborah Sexton, PCMA President and CEO. “While I am sad to see her leave us, I am also glad that she will remain a vital part of Convening Leaders’ 2017 Learning Lounge through Insight Event Strategy. Together we will continue to raise the bar with breakthrough education, meeting design and networking."
One of the key innovations over the last several years under Peacy’s watch has been the Convening Leaders Learning Lounge and open space learning concept. With its emphasis on open space education outside the typical breakout room and smaller, more engaging and creative opportunities to learn and connect, the Learning Lounge has been one of PCMA’s most popular innovations and continues to change and evolve. PCMA will contract with Peacy’s new firm, Insight Event Strategy, LLC, to develop the 2017 version of open space learning at Convening Leaders in Austin.
“I’m immensely proud of the work I’ve done over 15 years at PCMA and I’m thrilled to now call this amazing organization my client,” said Peacy. “I’m looking forward to working collaboratively with the entire team to bring high-level thinking and execution strategies to the open space learning at Convening Leaders in Austin.”
Insight Event Strategy, LLC will focus its work on business events, delivering strategy and action plans in experience design, conference education and program branding and messaging for organizations of all types. The new company officially launches on May 2, 2016.
“At PCMA, I’ve been fortunate to work with extraordinarily smart people, take risks and learn from them. I am looking forward to bringing that experience and the contacts I have accumulated over the years to other organizations who look to increase the value of their business events,” said Peacy.
