Izzie Dale, 22, is the second student to take up a five-month work placement at WRG’s London office. Izzie, an alumnus of Oxford Brookes University where she studied a degree in Interior Architecture, was selected due to her passion for events. Izzie competed for a place with hundreds of others at a case study pitch at the Ashdown Academy at University College London. Following an interview she was offered a place on the graduate scheme.
Izzie Dale said: “I’m so excited to be working for WRG. To be able to apply myself across a variety of different projects, each with a completely different role, is going to be incredibly fulfilling. My passion and interests lie in events and design, so working with a company with a clear focus on this will be really rewarding.”
Izzie will spend the next five months working on projects across a variety of accounts, including Shell and WRG’s pharmaceutical clients.
The Ashdown Academy programme, which has been running for 18 months, sees WRG engaging future talent for the company’s London office, complementing the partnership WRG's Manchester office has with Manchester Metropolitan University. The WRG team supports students on the Chartered Institute of Marketing accredited event management course with classroom tuition, guest lectures and on the job training.
Rob Bagust, Head of Congress at WRG, said: “We believe in encouraging and supporting the next generation of young professionals who want a career in the events industry. We set up the scheme to offer students a unique insight into the world of live events within a global company who service some of the biggest and most interesting clients in the industry.”
Justine Kane, Course Director at The Ashdown Academy said: “Our partnership with WRG is key to giving Ashdown students the necessary real-life work experience they need. Along with the classroom tuition they receive, the opportunity to work with one of the best live events companies is fantastic.”
