The Association has highlighted the 2016 Federal election, national construction projects including Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and Adelaide Convention Centre, and the opening of the International Convention Centre Sydney in December as some of the key milestones ahead.
“We have a lot to look forward to this year as the value of exhibitions and events to economic development, trade and export, employment, visitation and knowledge sharing becomes more widely recognised.” said EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio.
“There has been more infrastructure investment to support exhibitions and events, the overall Australian economy is healthy and the Association’s new partnership with the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) will help to position our sector within a highly influential industry network in the lead-up to the 2016 Federal election.”
EEAA will kick off its 2016 program in Melbourne next month at the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME). The Association said it was committed to supporting the event by joining Members on the AIME floor and exhibiting at stand 2122, as well as presenting a session in AIME’s knowledge program.
“AIME brings together decision makers from across Australia, the Asia-Pacific and the world to do business and share knowledge.” Ms DiMascio said.
“It is an important event with an international reach and is a compelling case study that tells the story of the Power of Exhibitions and the value of business events to Australia. EEAA is honoured to again support this event.
“We are also looking forward to meeting our Members and Stakeholders and invite them to make an appointment and visit stand 2122.”
In a session to be held on the show floor for the first time, Joyce DiMascio will present a series of case studies highlighting the innovation, best practice and marketing success of EEAA Members which contribute to the $23.1 billion that Australia’s Business Events Sector generates for the Australian economy. She will focus on best practice case studies from the EEAA 2015 Awards for Excellence.
The Leading Lights from Leading Events session will be held on Tuesday, 23 February and is open to all AIME attendees.
Ian Wainwright, Event Director for AIME, said that as the leading business events trade show in the Asia-Pacific region, they were proud to have the support of EEAA.
“Our primary objectives are closely aligned, and we benefit greatly from the industry history and knowledge shared by EEAA and its Members.
“With a raft of EEAA Members on board to participate in AIME 2016 as exhibitors, buyers and visitors, we are excited to share this showcase of the very best the industry has to offer and we look forward to celebrating the 24th year of AIME with EEAA in February 2016.”
Mr Wainwright said that in such a fast-moving industry, it is crucial that industry associations participate in AIME to share industry successes and concerns, learn from relevant information and build new relationships in a creative environment.
“It’s important that all key influencers in the industry come together to represent their members, and to have a voice in shaping the future of business events in the region.” He said.
AIME 2016 will be held on 23-24 February at EEAA Member Venue, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. It will be preceded by a Welcome Event hosted by the Melbourne Convention Bureau on 22 February.
Alongside AIME, EEAA will also hold an Executive Board meeting and a Young Stars & Leaders Table with special guest leader Minnie Constan, Event Director at Diversified Communications Australia.
Minnie has been the powerhouse driving the success of Fine Food Australia. She is one of the most successful women in the exhibition industry and has developed Fine Food Australia into one of the most “internationally” supported trade events in Australia.
“Minnie is an excellent role model for the EEAA Young Stars – she has been able to build a major trade event that attracts both local and international buyers and exhibitors.” Ms DiMascio said.
“Fine Food Australia is a great example of a trade show that supports the food producers of Australia and a great stage for Australian and international exhibitions.”
