First group of agents to become AIM Experts

Inntel, Absolute Corporate Events, Calder Conferences and Planet Venues have achieved the AIM Expert hallmark and appointed an AIM Champion within their teams, after completing the inaugural AIM Expert workshop.
The UK’s only nationally recognised standard for the meetings industry, Accredited in Meetings (AIM), is awarding the AIM Expert logo to booking agents who are fully briefed on the accreditation’s criteria and its advantages to those involved in the procurement of meetings and events..


The newly appointed AIM Champions are now tasked with ensuring AIM knowledge is included within their staff induction programme. Champions will also be responsible for providing internal training as well as including AIM as a criteria check within RFP’s and enquiry details.  

Lucy Hay, AIM Champion and event manager at Absolute Corporate Events, said: “It was great to be involved in the AIM training day and I found it really beneficial to see the lengths hotels and venues are going to in order to ensure that they are achieving this accreditation.  I am pledging my support to the initiative and hope to see the programme grow in the future with more agencies and venues becoming involved.”  

Gary Payne, chair of the AIM development group, commented: “Agencies holding the AIM Expert hallmark offer an amplified service and greater commitment to their clients and the overall delegates’ experience. By becoming an AIM Expert, booking agents demonstrate to their clients a broader knowledge of the UK’s venue inventory in terms of their meetings facilities and services.  

“Agents are a significant driving force in the marketplace, holding expertise and relationships with suppliers. We felt that by introducing the AIM Expert hallmark and face to face workshops we can create greater awareness of the accreditation and dialogue between stakeholders. Our goal is to continue educating agents about AIM’s advantages while gaining valuable feedback so we can further develop the accreditation to meet market needs.”  

The next AIM Expert Training session takes place on Monday 11th May 2015.
