Gavin Houston (CEO Americas) commented: “The expansion to San Bruno is a natural move for us. We have an existing, and growing, client base in the region which includes start-up biotech companies as well as more established pharmaceutical companies.
"We deliver over 50 meetings and events annually in the region so have extensive local knowledge. We are also regularly on-site in cities such as San Francisco or San Diego supporting our clients’ congress activities. The expansion beyond our US headquarters in the Northeast and our Midwest location will mean we now have staff in three of the major healthcare hubs in the US. This will allow us to continue to efficiently support the evolving requirements of our domestic clients, in addition to maintaining our strong international service offering.”
The expansion will see the local Ashfield Meetings & Events team work alongside colleagues from affiliate company Ashfield Healthcare Communications, who are already established in the region. These two business areas, as well as Ashfield Insight & Performance, work collaboratively across healthcare professional (HCP) attended events to deliver insight-led, personalised experiences.
Houston added: “Since the rebrand to Ashfield last year we have found we are connecting with colleagues across the wider division to find innovative solutions for our clients. By sharing office space with the healthcare communications business it will allow us to strengthen the connected offering we can provide to add value to our events. With our strategic meeting oversight we can ensure we have a shared vision amongst our network of experts, utilising the data and insight in the business to create more personalised and impactful HCP events.”
The US geographic expansion to San Bruno follows the recent move into a new global headquarters in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire at the back end of 2014.
