Delegates are benchmarked at the start of the event using a customized App in conjunction with tablets, and the process is repeated as soon as the event is over, so that recall, comprehension or sentiment can be measured against pre-set targets.
KDM Commercial Director Nicky Whyman said: “We work with the client to tailor an initial set of 8-10 questions linked to their specific event objectives, having identified and set measureable targets. For example, a client may be looking for 90% of their team to state by the end the event that they feel able to work well together towards shared goals.”
Delegates complete the questions as part of the event briefing given by KDM’s Event Manager. Questions are answered anonymously using tablets supplied by the company. Typically one tablet shared between 10 participants enables the entire group to complete the multiple choice questionnaire in less than 10 minutes.
The process is repeated at the end of the event and then planners are immediately given a clear report of the outcomes against their original defined targets.
Whyman added: “The whole process is really uncomplicated from the event planner’s perspective. Our crew set up the wireless system for the tablets and the measurement App at the venue. It’s an entirely self-contained, independent system, so there are no concerns around the venue’s ability to provide internet access, with the added benefit that security, speed and reliability are assured.
“In the same way, there are no log-ins and no time wasted downloading the app because the tablets arrive ready-loaded. They can also be branded for the company or event.”
KDM’s Measure Event Success tool is currently being used by groups of up to 300 delegates. The company is offering to include the system and results report as a free add-on component (subject to availability) for clients booking teambuilding events before 31 May 2015.
