Conference Partners has been appointed by the UK and Ireland Chapter of ICCA, the International Congress and Convention Association, to act as secretariat. The one-year contract has been awarded following a three-way competitive tender, evaluated by the chapter committee. Conference Partners will be responsible for all aspects of association management for the ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter, including event management, committee and membership support, financial management and communications.

ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter Chair and Director of Sales at ACC Liverpool Kerrin MacPhie says: “The chapter continues to grow with several new members joining already this year and so it is essential we have a strong secretariat to support our voluntary committee and ensure we offer a great service to our members. We are delighted to appoint Conference Partners to the role following their successful tender and look forward to working with the team.”

Nicola McGrane, Managing Director of the Conference Partners Group, adds: “We are delighted to be chosen by the ICCA UK and Ireland chapter. Working with an organisation that has education and the sharing of knowledge high on their agenda is a priority for Conference Partners. We look forward to working with a wonderful team of industry professionals and colleagues.”

The Conference Partners team responsible for the ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter secretariat will be led by Account Manager Lorraine Garvie.

The first task for the new chapter secretariat will be to manage its forthcoming annual debate to be held in Brighton on March 24th – 25th. Meeting design and the art of optimising meetings and events for maximum effectiveness will be the focus of the debate, with Bo Kruger of Moving Minds from Denmark leading an interactive session on Meeting design – Action, Engagement and ROI. Day two of the event will include a session on ‘Gamification – what is it and how can we use it?’ and a panel debate on meeting design, with venues, destinations and planners participating. Registration is open to members and non-members of ICCA.
