Seaham Hall appoints Travel PR

Travel PR has announced that it is now representing Seaham Hall. The super-stylish five-star boutique hotel with spa, set amidst 37 acres of landscaped gardens in an enviable cliff-top location, has views over Durham’s Heritage Coast and is just three hours by train from Central London.

Built in 1791 by Sir Ralph Milbanke on the site of a medieval manor house, the drawing room was the venue for the marriage of legendary poet Lord Bryon to Sir Ralph’s daughter in 1815. Other notable guests at Seaham Hall include the Duke of Wellington in 1827 and Benjamin Disraeli (UK Prime Minister in 1868 & 1874-1880), in 1861.

With a £2M refurbishment programme complete, the sleek interior features 20 individually-designed suites, an excellent spa and two restaurants. Over the next 12 months, the suites will undergo a gradual redesign (one completed to date), taking inspiration from the hotel’s stunning coastal location.

Stylish Byrons Bar & Grill and pan-Asian restaurant Ozone are headed by chef Simon Bolsover, who joined the hotel in April 2014 from the three AA rosette Great Fosters at Egham, Surrey. Byrons offers a refined yet affordable menu, with imaginative dishes created with local, fresh produce.

Seaham Hall’s 44,000 sq ft Serenity Spa is home to a 20-metre pool, 17 treatment rooms, hammam with walk-in snail showers, ice fountain and outdoor hot tubs. Its extensive range of tempting treatments includes relaxing Hopi ear candles, Indian head massage and Rasul mud treatment, plus a variety of new treatments - inspired by the hotel’s coastal location - which harness the renowned health benefits of seaweed alongside Lava Shells.

Bikes are available for guests to explore the hotel’s extensive grounds and beyond, while several ancient castles, beautiful beaches, the Durham Dales, North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the historic city of Durham, with its castle and cathedral, are easily accessible.

Be it for a night’s stay or a long weekend, a range of special breaks is regularly updated and refreshed for the perfect escape, no matter what the season.
