For the first time in the tournament’s 60-year history, UEFA have opted to stage the finals tournament across several European countries rather than in one host nation.
Coventry-based Aesthetics Events Staff provides a range of staff to Club Wembley for events such as England internationals, concerts and other sporting occasions – including this weekend’s NFL match between the Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders.
The company, which employs ten staff in its Electric Wharf offices as well as having more than 12,000 staff on its international roster, has also previously worked on behalf of UEFA when it has staged the Champions League Final at Wembley.
Lee Thomas, managing director of Aesthetics, said the company’s track record would stand it in good stead. She said: “Firstly, every football fan in the country is delighted by this news. It’s fantastic for the country and for Wembley to be staging the biggest matches of the tournament in 2020.
“We have a great relationship with Wembley Stadium and have been providing staff in a range of positions for more than seven years and that includes everything from One Direction concerts to NFL matches!
“When UEFA previously staged the Champions League finals at Wembley, we had to go through a tender process for the championships and, although it’s very early, I am sure that process will be the same again.
“I would hope our work at those finals in 2011 and 2013 and the great feedback we received will stand us in good stead when it comes to Euro 2020.
“At those matches, we provided over 300 staff who could speak a range of languages to work in a range of roles including managers, team leaders, registration staff, reception staff and restaurant host and hostesses.
“We also provided staff to meet guests at the airport, check them in to their hotel, escort them via coach and also to meet and greet them at the stadium. It was a real team effort and was, again, a chance to highlight our strong commitment to high levels of customer service.
“Of course, we take nothing for granted but we will certainly be putting ourselves forward for these hugely prestigious matches.”
Thomas founded Aesthetics in 1996 after several years working in the promotions and events industry as a senior event manager.
She spotted a gap in the market and the company now works on events around the world for clients such as Premier League football clubs, IT, banking and major automotive brands.
