The partnership between Speakers Corner and HBAA emphasises the association’s wider take on driving professionalism in the live event sector; from procurement through to production and the growing importance of quality content at corporate events.
Martin McCourt, former Chief Executive of Dyson, and Richard Watson, writer, speaker and scenario thinker will deliver sessions that are targeted to engage the association’s audience of key agents and venue members.
Martin McCourt was an international brand leader, and head of one of the UK’s most brilliant design and engineering feats at Dyson. McCourt will be delivering the keynote speech on ‘Innovation as a Way of Being’, and zoning in on ensuring that an organisation is capable of capitalising on its intellectual capital, as well as keeping the lifeblood of the business – the ideas – flowing.
Richard Watson advises organisations on planning strategically for the future, and is the publisher of the ‘What's Next’ report on global trends, and author of the book ‘Future Files: A History of the Next 50 years.’ Watson’s address, to senior managers, is titled ‘Control, option, delete: Staying Human in the Digital Age’ and will examine some of the major consequences of the digital age and how we can make the most of our ubiquitous connectivity without falling victim to some of the digital downsides.
The HBAA Annual Forum will also feature an overview of the current state of the industry economy and its effect on our sector today and in the near future.
Juliet Price, consultant Executive Director of the HBAA: “Content is the reason why people get together and we see it as a paramount element in quantifying return on investment. We are delighted to be working with Speakers Corner and to be helping cascade their messages on the importance of speakers and content when planning an event. We are all the more delighted that we can showcase some of their talent!”
Nick Gold, Managing Director of Speakers Corner, adds: “It has been superb to deliver the HBAA Forum with a first class line up of creative speakers. Both Martin and Richard will complement the seminar sessions and provide insight into their business innovations and thought leadership for the senior manager audience.”
