The first event, then called a ‘riverboat shuffle’ took place on the Barracuda on 31 May 1984 with a Caribbean theme. The evening saw hostesses greet guests wearing Caribbean headdresses followed by a buffet for 160 people including grilled fish, goat curry and plantain crisps.
Fast forward 30 years and Moving Venue cater at many of London’s high profile venues, offering fresh, creative and contemporary dishes that bring events to life.
In contrast to 1984’s ‘Caribbean cuisine’, the VIP dinner began with canapés such as pistachio chicken lollies followed by a three-course seated dinner. The menu featured cold smoked salmon, radish, caper, dill mascarpone, cornichon, silverskin onion, potato blini, poached egg, avruga caviar to start; pan fried rump of lamb rubbed in green thyme and crushed kampot pepper, peruvian potato gnocchi dressed with asparagus, taggiasca olive, heirloom tomato and fève salad, crisp shank; and Amalfi lemon meringue pie, sweet basil pesto, greek basil, limoncello sorbet to finish.
