Custard wins five-way pitch for QEIICC PR brief

Custard Communications is getting underway with plans to steer the repositioning of iconic conference and meetings venue the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) in London’s Westminster. This comes after the marketing and communications agency won a five-way pitch for its PR brief at a critical point of change for the centre, with extensive refurbishments now underway.

The QEIICC offers world-class facilities for high profile conferences, conventions, exhibitions and corporate events with capacity for up to 2,500 delegates. More than 400 national and international events are hosted there each year.

The QEIICC’s marketing manager Roopi Woodall, who joined the centre in April, says: “Perfecting the customer experience is central to our refurbishment activities and our reputation as a beacon of British excellence. Our USPs have always been our people, our location and our facilities and providing outstanding customer service remains a priority. We’ve now begun an interior makeover. This is the first stage of our investment in future-proofing our facilities and processes to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience from initial venue research through to enquiry and then the event execution.”

The centre’s refurbishment programme, which started this month, will re-establish the centre’s ‘wow factor’. The ambitious programme of capital works will provide aesthetic and visual improvements and enhanced facilities to the building and facility environment. They will also enhance the customer experience and create a more modern, quality and stylish environment attractive to new and existing clients.

The Centre is now closed through July and August, with all works being completed by early September 2014.
