Creating the perfect amalgamation of British tradition and French gastronomy, Lenôtre’s Executive Chef Guy Krenzer and award winning sommelier Olivier Poussier have developed a hand-crafted menu which brings a luxurious French touch to a classically British menu.
Guests at The Sandringham, The Balmoral and Carriages restaurants, which are to feature Lenôtre at Royal Ascot 2014, will be treated to a Michelin-star worthy menu; inspired by quintessentially British favourites, the colourful dishes are set to not only taste wonderful, but to perfectly complement the vibrant display of hats at the prestigious summer event this year. The Balmoral menu will offer four courses, delivering delicious plates including; crab terrine, lobster, beef fillet and a two metre long chocolate gateau.
Reflecting Chef Guy’s passion for quality ingredients, award winning sommelier Olivier Poussier has hand-picked the finest wines to accompany the dishes. This includes an exclusive Côte-Rôtie, of which only 250 bottles have ever been made. In addition to remarkable dining, each of the restaurants featuring Lenôtre will also provide luxurious settings for visitors at Royal Ascot this year, located in marquees overlooking the winning posts. The Sandringham, The Balmoral and Carriages restaurants are expected to cater for up to 1,400 guests daily during the five days of the royal meeting. Prices for the different restaurants range from £330 per person (plus VAT) for The Sandringham to £660 (plus VAT) per person in The Balmoral.
Commenting on the new partnership, Richard Barclay, director of Ascot hospitality at Sodexo said: “One of the most innovative and ground-breaking additions to Royal Ascot this year, comes with the introduction of Lenôtre which runs Le Pré Catelan, a three Michelin star restaurant world renowned for its lavish decor and sumptuous menus. We look forward to Lenôtre bringing something very special to this year’s event.”
