No registration fees for Business Travel Managers for 2014 ACTE Conferences

The cost of attending two major travel industry events has dropped for business travel managers who are Association of Corporate Travel Executive members. Speaking at ACTE’s 26th Annual North American Global Travel Conference (Miami April 27-April 29), Executive Director Greeley Koch announced that registration fees for the association’s upcoming 2014 conferences in Hong Kong and Copenhagen would now be included as an enhanced membership benefit for business travel managers.

“Many travel managers are still subject to cost limitations on conferences and training events. With registration fees coming out of their own pockets, they will attend conferences if participation costs are lowered. There is nothing lower than free,” said Koch. He added that many ACTE members have been attending conferences for the past few years without reimbursement and that the association wanted to reward this loyalty.

Koch explained that ACTE’s nimble financial structure and laser focus on cost controls will accommodate this change as the association is not supporting a large office operation. “We are respectful of our members’ time and money. You won’t see any sudden increases in the cost of ACTE membership. This is not a pricing gimmick but a genuine membership benefit.”

“ACTE makes life easier for members,” said association President Kurt Knackstedt. “We do this by meeting industry challenges. The challenge was in placing two conferences within reach of business travel managers constrained by corporate economics. We solved the problem and the initial response has been very gratifying. This is what ACTE does best.”

This enhanced membership benefit is immediately applicable to ACTE’s Asia Conference in Hong Kong (August 6-7, 2014) and the association’s European Global Corporate Travel Conference in Copenhagen (October 19-21, 2014). This membership enhancement is available to any business travel manager who is an ACTE member. The offer is also extended to any new travel managers members who join ACTE in 2014. A modest €10 booking fee is assessed at the time of registration. Airfare, accommodations, and ground transportation are not included. All registrations provided under this membership benefit policy are subject to a “no show” penalty.
