100 days to go until Glasgow 2014

ATP Event Experts expects to move 1,200 spectators to this summer’s Games

With just 100 days to go until the start of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, corporate travel and events business ATP Event Experts has revealed it expects to manage the spectator experiences of over 1,200 people at this unique sporting event.

As the Glasgow 2014 Games Travel Office (GTO), ATP Event Experts will have dedicated teams embedded in Games HQ and The Athletes Village supporting the Organising Committee in key areas of delivery.  As the sole Spectator Packages provider ATP Event Experts also manages and sells a range of spectator packages for the Games, providing a one-stop shop for visitors with combined options for tickets, accommodation and travel.

In fact, ATP Event Experts has sold over 6,500 tickets to individual events; numbers which place the business as one of the leading sports experience companies in Europe. ATP Event Experts has also revealed that the events receiving the most amount of interest so far include perennial Commonwealth Games’ favourites, track and field.

Neil Pace, Head of UK Event Operations at ATP Event Experts and Senior Project Manager GTO explains: "In less than 100 days Scotland will welcome top athletes from around the world to compete in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Demand has grown steadily since the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) announced the Games were coming to Scotland and we are ready to manage the extensive accommodation and travel-related needs of the Games Family.”

Glasgow 2014 has a massive global appeal with 11 days of exciting competition, showcasing 17 different sports, with massive demand from all corners of the globe.

The exceptional planning required has led ATP Event Experts to assign a dedicated team of 20 professionals to Glasgow to manage a range of hotels, restaurants and event venues, and to plan and deliver the entire event operations.  The team has also been busy with requests from clients keen to experience Glasgow and Scotland's hospitality and culture.
