Leading branding consultant and author to address MIA AGM

Meetings Industry Association (mia) members attending its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Church House Conference Centre on 7th April, will have the opportunity to glean vital business winning advice from leading business and branding consultant and author, Shaun Smith.

Smith, author and founder of customer experience consultancy Smith+co, who has developed some of the latest thinking on the subjects of branding and the customer experience, helping organisations world-wide, will address mia members at the AGM as guest speaker. His consultancy, Smith+co, specialises in defining customer experience that builds loyalty and turns customers into advocates.

"Like many other industries, the meetings market is becoming ever more crowded and competitive. The emergence of digital channels is creating an opportunity but also greater complexity. So how do brands 'stand out' from the crowd? I will be sharing the findings from my research into those brands that are transforming their markets and winning." Comments Shaun Smith, author and founder, Smith+co.

Explaining why she believes the AGM’s guest speaker offers a significant opportunity to mia members, Jane Longhurst, mia chief executive, said, “Delivering benefits to our members that help them achieve a considerable competitive advantage is always the objective and our guest speaker Shaun Smith fits perfectly with this agenda, he has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience to share and his approach is both inspiring and stimulating. I am impressed by his strong track record for driving positive change through innovative, business winning ideas, and these will be presented in a way that is specifically relevant to meetings businesses.”

The mia’s 24th AGM will be held on Monday, 7th April 2014 at Church House Conference Centre, London from 11.00am.
