HBAA has updated its corporate governance towards its membership venues

Inclusivity of membership leads way for 2014

The HBAA has updated the corporate governance towards its membership of venues, hotels, apartments and stadia to enable them to become registered members of the Company. The realignment of articles of association underline HBAA’s continued drive for equality across its membership.

Registered at Companies House and with over two hundred members, the HBAA is the representative voice for the procurement of accommodation, meetings and conferences.

The new resolutions mean that the suppliers of accommodation and meetings can attend the association’s AGM as well as having a greater liability towards the financial future of the association.

Chris Parnham, chair of the HBAA said, “This newly passed resolution will give far more equilibrium across the association and more importantly addresses our need to keep in track with emerging market conditions. There is a resolute desire amongst our membership to move forward and to address changing market dynamics”.

The HBAA represents the interests of parties involved in the procurement and management of conferences, meetings and accommodation in the UK and internationally. It has an annual buying power in excess of £2.3bn per annum and is recognised by corporates as the benchmark of quality and integrity.
