New data dynamics to be revealed at ACTE Miami Conference

New data dynamics to be introduced during the Association of Corporate Travel Executives’ Global Corporate Travel Conference in Miami (27 April — 29 April 2014) will change the way business information is used and leveraged. Eric Siegel, PhD, author of Predictive Analytics: The Power to Predict Who Will Click, Buy, Lie, or Die, will demonstrate the hidden power of data.

In reassuring news for travel managers, the predictive power of Siegel’s methodology draws from all data, including “small data,” “smart data,” or a combination thereof.

Siegel’s methodology uses existing data to reliably predict success, failure, or acceptance far in advance of actual developments. Variations of this approach have been used by major retailers, government agencies, and even utilities to forecast trends and reverses, sometimes years in advance. The implications for business travel executives challenged by compliance issues, savings pressure, and program acceptance are indisputable.

Siegel, who is also the founder of Predictive Analytics World (a business-focused event for predictive analytics professionals) and a former professor at Columbia University, is one of several powerhouse presenters linked through the logic of ACTE’s four educational pillars that engage conference attendees around the industry issues that matter most.

“Our ‘Four Pillar’ education philosophy is results-oriented and focused on bringing resolution to industry issues,” said Greeley Koch, ACTE’s executive director. “Our education team worked closely with the ACTE Miami steering committee to identify four areas of focus for our education in 2014: Data Access & Analytics; Industry Innovations; Talent Development for Travel Professionals; and Traveler Centricity. This is the first industry-wide conference to take this approach.

ACTE’s Global Corporate Travel Conference in Miami will be held at the InterContinental Miami.
